Tuscaloosa church to take donations to benefit veterans

(WIAT) — An event serving veterans will be held on Saturday in Tuscalooa.

Members of the Woodland Baptist Church will be collecting items to benefit veterans at Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center.

Volunteers will be taking donations of small hygiene items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrushes from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The volunteers also need donations of socks, t-shirts and underwear.

The event will be held at 4620 Pelham Heights Road in Tuscaloosa.
