(KCRA) Seventeen bodies were removed from a California funeral home when authorities raided the business.
Family members complained it was taking too long for the bodies to be cremated.
Modesto sheriff’s deputies took the bodies to the county coroner’s office.
Families are being forced to make other arrangements. It’s not clear how long the bodies had been at the funeral home.
The county apparently stopped issuing permits to the funeral home to legal cremate or bury them.
