(WIAT) — The Alabama Department of Health says it is investigating a dialysis center in Bessemer.
The center, which is owned by the Fresenius Medical Care chain, was closed by operators on May 8, 2013, after two patients died and several others were hospitalized.
“We don’t have any final determination on what caused the illnesses,” Dr. Walter Geary with the Bureau of Healthcare Providers said in a statement on Monday. “We are working closely with the company, physicians and staff who run the Bessemer clinic and the CDC.”
