(WIAT) — Commuters who travel along Highway 280 will need to make some adjustments to their travel routes in the near future.
A multi-million dollar project to make improvements to a nine-mile stretch is now underway on the highway.
The Alabama Department of Transportation is adding turn lanes and making changes to traffic signals.
The changes are part of a project aimed at reducing congestion at approximately 27 intersections.
The work will be done each evening from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The full proposed layouts for the intersections that will be impacted can be found by clicking this link.
