So far, 1,200 people have come down with the measles since January.
At least 100 patients have been hospitalized for serious complications, such as pneumonia and meningitis.
Now, health officials are scrambling to get more than 1 million children vaccinated.
More than a decade ago, millions of parents stopped immunizing children after a paper suggested a link between vaccinations and autism.
That paper has since been discredited.
