(WIAT) — Memorial Day is Monday, but some veterans in the area are getting an early start on the holiday.
A group of veterans are traveling to Washington D.C. for the Memorial Day weekend, but first they needed to make a pit stop in West Alabama.
Over 350 motorcyclists rolled into the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center to eat lunch and visit with patients.
It’s the bikers’ way of carrying the spirits and stories of the men and women who couldn’t join them on their cross-country ride to the memorials in D.C.
