(WIAT) — May is national Older Americans Month.

On Thursday, a local organization took time to thank senior citizens in the Birmingham area.

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program hosted a fair to honor senior citizens in Jefferson County.

Many of them got to go fishing, enjoy music, play games and join in some dancing.

Organizer Melanie Gamble says the celebration proved that you’re never too old to have a good time.
