(WIAT) — Giving girls a chance is just one of the goals of Grace House Ministries.

On Thursday, the organization held its annual Hats Off Luncheon.

CBS42’s Sherri Jackson joined a few hundred people at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center to raise money for the ministry.

The ministry is focused on helping abused, abandoned and neglected girls.

Judge Nyya Parson-Hudson spoke to the crowd about pearls of wisdom.

Grace Village, a community of homes and facilities used by Grace House, is located in the Fairfield community.

Their Legacy Award went to Covenant Presbyterian Church, which has faithfully supported Grace House for years.
