(WIAT) — Now that high school graduates have walked the stage, some local bikers are hitting the highway to fund their future.

Over 100 bikers took the day off of work on Friday, revved up their engines and turned a few heads while doing so.

The Big Dog Poker Run was held to benefit the Go Build Alabama Future Skilled Workers of America scholarship fund.

The organization says there are a number of available jobs out there that are in need of skilled workers.

Bikers participating in the event pulled out from CraneWorks and took the 115-mile route, making stops at Barber Motorsports Park and Talladega Superspeedway.
