Auburn baseball left out of NCAA Tournament Picture

Auburn, AL(WIAT)- The Auburn Tigers 2013 Baseball season came to an end today when the NCAA Selection committee decided they weren’t worthy of a bid to the postseason tournament.

Player reactions were strong.

In a statement released after the selection show Monday, Head Coach John Pawlowski had this to say of the decision.

“Obviously we are disappointed we didn’t get in. I thought our team played very well the second half of the season after the start we had in the SEC. I’m very proud of what they did in the second half.”

. The first round loss in the SEC tournament to Alabama may have been the final nail in the coffin, it left Auburn 33-23 overall and 13-18 in SEC play.   At the time Auburn had a relatively strong RPI of 33.

A few days and conference tournament games later Auburn is on the outside looking in with an RPI of 43.   This is the third consecutive year Auburn has missed NCAA postseason play.
