(WIAT) — After spending 38 years in the same classroom, one kindergarten teacher is on the move.

Councill Elementary School is closing, so Wanda Murray is packing up her supplies and her memories and taking them with her to Bush Middle School, K-8.

Murray is this week’s recipient of a $1,000 grant as a part of CBS42’s One Class At A Time grant program.

She’ll be able to use the money to make the new classroom feel a little more like home.

Murray’s full story will be featured on CBS42 News at 6 on Thursday, May 30.

CBS42’s co-sponsors for the grant are Pepsi and America’s First Federal Credit Union.
