Numerous catalytic converters stolen from Tuscaloosa auto lot

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, 13 catalytic converters were stolen from Auto Max USA on the night of May 22, 2013.

Officers responded to a theft call at the business located at 2204 Greensboro Avenue in Tuscaloosa on May 23.

The TPD says the suspect also cut off 14 additional catalytic converters from cars at another Auto Max USA location on 2323 East Skyland Boulevard.

Police say the suspects may drive a maroon or red Pontiac Aztek.

An additional theft occurred at the Auto Max USA on Greensboro Avenue on May 23, between 5 p.m. and 9 a.m. the following morning.

A white 2003 Ford F350 was taken from the lot. The truck has a black flatbed with a wrecker boom attached to the flatbed.

Anyone with information pertaining to the whereabouts of the suspects, believed to be three individuals, are encouraged to call Tuscaloosa Crime Stoppers at (205) 752-7876.

Auto Max USA is offering  $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspects that stole the Ford F350.
