(WIAT) — A dangerous bridge in Walker County is now closed after years of wear and tear.
The Alabama Department of Transportation says Smith Chapel Bridge in Carbon Hill can no longer support its three ton weight limit.
Only cars were previously allowed to drive on the bridge.
Drivers say it was pretty shaky at times.
Those who use the bridge say the closure creates a ten minute detour.
