TUSCALOOSA, AL (WIAT) – Alabama’s women’s golf team didn’t successfully defend its National Title, but they were able to place three All-Americans on the 2012-13 All-America teams for NCAA Division-I women’s golf on Thursday.

Junior Stephanie Meadow was named first-team All-American for the third time in her career. Freshman Emma Talley and senior Jennifer Kirby were also recognized for an outstanding season. Talley was named to the second-team, while Kirby earned honorable mention.

Meadow, a native of Northern Ireland, finished her season with a school-record 71.25 scoring average with two tournament victories. She has seven all-time wins at Alabama. Talley was also named the SEC Freshman of the Year and recorded the second-lowest scoring average by a freshman in school history at 73.0.

In Mic Potter’s eight years as Alabama’s women’s golf coach, the Tide has now won 16 All-American honors by seven different players. Including six first-team selections.
