HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) – An estimated 5,000 people left the Hoover Metropolitan Complex Friday covered in all sorts of color.

The participants of the  ‘Color Me Rad 5K’ knew exactly what they were getting into. Colored cornstarch was thrown at runners and walkers every six-tenths of a mile.

CBS42’s Ted McInerney and Lauren Sisler had a blast taking part in the event.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Alabama.
