(WIAT) — The population of Shelby County is continuing to boom, and as the county grows, cities are looking to follow Alabaster and form their own school systems.

On Monday evening, the Pelham City Council is holding a public hearing to review the results of a feasibility study into forming an independent school system of their own.

The public is invited to attend the hearing, which will be held at 7 p.m. inside the City Municipal Courtroom.
