(WIAT) — There was a time when people knew everything about their neighbors, as well as what was happening in their neighborhood.
Some people blame technology for this decline in awareness and friendliness, but now a smartphone app is trying to reverse that trend.
Nextdoor offers a set up similar to Facebook, but networks are private, only available to people who live within a certain set of boundaries.
Currently there are more than 30 neighborhood networks in the Birmingham area.
