The Pelham Police Department is asking for help to identify a theft suspect. According to police, store merchandise the only thing missing when the suspect leaves a store.

The suspect enters a business pretending to be interested in making a purchase, she is often accompanied by a small child.

She reportedly asks for things on high shelves and uses other tactics to distract the employee. The suspect then allegedly steals merchandise and also takes credit a debit cards from employees working at the business.

A small business in Pelham is known to be one of the most recent targets. The business owner’s personal and company credit cards were stolen and used to make several large purchases a retail stores.

Police believe the suspect is connected to similar thefts in Calhoun, Jefferson, Shelby, Etowah Counties.
