CDC says amount of late medical bills down in 2012

(WIAT) — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says the amount of late payments on medical bills fell over the course of the past year.

According to the CDC, 54 million Americans were in families struggling to pay their doctor, dentist and other medical bills in 2012.

That figure is more than 3.5 million fewer people than in 2011.
