(WIAT) — A major player in the wireless telecommunications world is giving back to the community.

The Verizon Foundation has awarded grants to two Birmingham charities.

Aletheia House, which promotes safe dating practices for teens, was awarded $10,000.

Another organization, Classic Pearls Incorporated, received $14,000.
