CLANTON, Ala. (WIAT) — A Korean War soldier from Chilton County will finally be laid to rest in Alabama this weekend.
Master Sgt. Olen Williams was thought to be Missing in Action (MIA), but his remains were recently identified.
On Thursday evening, his remains came home.
He was declared MIA in 1950, but his case was reopened in 2012.
DNA samples provided by some of his relatives helped identify him.
Williams’ funeral will be held at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton on Sunday.
He will be buried at Evergreen Cemetery in Verbena.
