Soldier previously listed as MIA laid to rest in Verbena

(WIAT) – Funeral services were held for Army Master Sgt. Olen B. Williams of Verbena Sunday. Williams was laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery with  full military honors.

Williams was among one of  the first units to land in Normandy at Utah Beach during D-Day on June 6, 1944.

He died while fighting in the Korean War.

Williams’ remains were positively identified in March with the help of DNA submitted by family members.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
