ALASKA — U. S. Army Alaska Soldiers, along with one civilian adviser, reached the summit of Mt. McKinley earlier this week.
One of the soldiers was Specialist Colton Carr, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, of Talladega.
With the help of instructors from the Northern Warfare Training Center, the team had been training for the climb since mid-February, and began their adventure on May 20th.
The successfully reached the top of Mt. McKinley on the evening of June 1st.
Mount McKinley is the highest mountain peak in North America with a summit elevation of 20,320 feet above sea level.
