See science up close

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.  (WIAT) – Interested in seeing how we do the weather on TV?  Well, come on down to the Aldridge Gardens in Hoover this Friday, June 14 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 pm.

I’ll be there as part of the Center’s Summer Space Week.  They’ve been learning all about outer space and I’ll help them end the week with a look above in our nearby atmosphere.

I’ll show campers how we measure the weather including an actual weather balloon!

Then, a visitor from the University Center for Atmospheric Research will make a cloud – in a bottle (don’t miss THAT!)

Next, I’ll demonstrate all of the things you should have in your emergency safety kit.

Finally, you’ll get to take your place in front of the green screen.

That’s right- CBS 42 has a portable green screen so you can see the behind-the-scenes action.

Best of all – this is free!  There will be treats as well, so parents, bring your children to Aldridge Gardens and I’ll see yuu there.
