(WIAT) — The trial continued on Wednesday for former Birmingham police officer Curtis Thornton.
He is accused of setting fire to houses in the Ensley community in 2012.
One witness, Christopher Davis, testified that officer Curtis Thornton and another man, Jason Arnold, tried to convince him to help set a fire.
Davis testified that he witnessed Arnold set a shirt on fire and leave it inside a home.
Other witnesses testified to seeing Thornton’s car in the vicinity of fires prior to them being set.
