(WIAT) — This week, volunteers with Alabama Power have transformed the Children’s Of Alabama Hospital into a carnival for patients and their families.
The carnival gave kids a chance to get out of their rooms and have some fun.
Among other activities the children got a chance to play games, enjoy magic shows and even get their face painted.
“The kids come in, as soon as they start walking around, the smiles start to come about. They kind of forget about what’s been going on. Then, as soon as they start smiling, all the volunteers and everybody around starts to light up. The parents start to have a good time when they see their kids smiling.” – (Kandy Bishop)
The day brought fun to everybody participating and the kids got to take souvenirs, including teddy bears and coloring books, back to their rooms.
