CULLMAN, Ala. (WIAT) — Community leaders from tornado-damaged areas all across the state met in Cullman on Thursday in hopes of getting their fair share.
The Alabama Department of Economic Community Affairs held a disaster funding workshop.
ADECA reports that almost 40 counties qualify for a portion of the $49 million being offered.
The money is meant to help storm-damaged communities with housing and infrastructure.
ADECA is accepting applications until at least July 22, 2013.
They hope to award the money by late summer.
