(WIAT) — On Friday, Governor Bentley helped kick off the peach season in Chilton County.
Peach growers say that the cooler spring temperatures delayed the fruit from ripening, which means that picking season was put off a couple of weeks.
Luckily they are ready now.
Everybody can experience the delicious taste by sinking in their teeth into a fresh piece of peach.
You can find locally grown peaches at most farmers markets.
