(WIAT) — Major road repairs are slowing down drivers in Trussville.
Crews are hard at work fixing damage caused by a sinkhole.
The sinkhole, which is located on the corner of Chalkville Mountain Road and Service Road, started with a damaged steel pipe, according to city leaders.
Over the years, it allowed water to erode the dirt around part of a storm sewer.
Crews started fixing the road on Monday.
The construction is expected to be completed on Wednesday.
