BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – The Birmingham Police Department is investigating homicide that occurred on Sunday evening.
It happened on 1st Street Southwest and Tuscaloosa Avenue.
The victim’s information has not been released at this time.
West Precinct officers responded to the incident location to investigate a report of a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim lying on the ground near the roadway suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and transported the victim to UAB Hospital for treatment where they were later pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in this case.
