(WIAT) — Sergeant Johnny Williams, Public Information Officer for the Birmingham Police Department, says it’s difficult to give advice on what to do if a robber breaks into your home.
Williams says each situation is different, but it’s best to try to prevent it from happening in the first place.
“We have crime prevention officers in our department that will be more than happy to come out and walk around your residence with you [and] give you tips on things you can do to help keep your home safe,
Sgt. Williams said.
Sgt. Williams says one of the best things to do is for people to get to know their neighbors.
By getting to know your neighbors, it allows residents to watch out for each other.
