BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT)– A second trial linked to several arsons in West Birmingham last year is set to get underway Monday, June 17th. Anthony Weaver is charged with several of those fires. He’s a transient who was arrested a year ago. Weaver is considered an accomplice to two former Birmingham officers who were also charged in the fires. Last week, former West Precinct officer, Curtis Thornton, was convicted of charges connected to fires in Warrior and West Birmingham. Sentencing is set for next month. Former Birmingham officer Jason Arnold is also charged in connection with last years arsons. His trial is set for October.
