(WIAT) — Thousands of people across the world are jumping in pools today, trying to break a world record.

Swimmers took to the pool for the world’s largest swim lesson.

Splash Adventure Water Park in Bessemer is hosting the event.

Several fledgling swimmers, including CBS42’s Chris Womack, hit the wave pool to learn a very important survival skill.

Additionally, all the rides at Splash Adventure Water Park are now open.

CBS42 photographer Wil Raines took a wild ride down Acapulco Falls on Tuesday morning.

The park is open on weekdays from 10:30 a.m. from 7 p.m.
