(WIAT) — The Tuscaloosa City Board of Education plans to vote on a policy that would require guests and volunteers at Tuscaloosa City Schools to undergo a sex offender check.

They are scheduled to vote on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m.

In addition, it is likely that some who choose to volunteer with the school system would be required to submit themselves to a background check.

CBS42 will have more on the vote on CBS42 News at 10.
