(WIAT) — Tuscaloosa school leaders are frustrated about some of the schools on the failing list that was released on Wednesday.
Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary was one school on the list that shocked Superintendent Dr. Paul McKendrick.
He calls it a “kick in the gut.”
McKendrick says the list doesn’t accurately reflect the progress that schools like MLK have made in recent years.
City schools on the list include MLK Elementary School, Westlawn Middle School and Central High School.
Davis-Emerson Middle School was the county’s only school on the list.
