(WIAT) — People who fly Southwest from Birmingham to New Orleans or Jacksonville may come with layovers.

Both cities were added to the list of cities that Southwest will no longer offer non-stop flight for out of Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.

Since 2011, Nashville, Louisville and Phoenix have also been added.

Despite the drop in destination options out of Birmingham, the airline is still the most popular for local travelers.

In 2012, Southwest had the top market share at 42 percent.

Delta was second with 29 percent.
