(WIAT) – Distracted driving is one of the most dangerous factors leading to accidents.

On Monday, U-Haul International joined forces with the Save-A-Life Tour to give the public a lesson on the dangers of distracted riving.

People spent the day inside of UAB’s Campus Recreation Center participating in safe driving stimulators and lectures to learn ways to keep their focus on the road while behind the wheel.

Organizers say it’s a topic that can’t be stressed enough.

“It’s a major threat to everybody out there on the road, and we want to do our part to take some leadership and let everyone know what they should and should not be doing,” Stuart Shoen said.

The event was free to the public.
