Suspect arrested in connection with Tuesday murder

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A suspect has been taken into custody by the Birmingham Police Department in connection with the Tuesday shooting at Justin’s Food Mart.

On Tuesday, 19-year-old Edwin Wayne was shot and killed at Justin’s Food Mart around 4:30 p.m.

Robert Fitts, a 20-year-old from Birmingham, was arrested and taken into custody after a murder warrant was obtained with no bond.

Fitts is being held at the Jefferson County Jail.
