VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. (WIAT) — Authorities want the public to keep an eye out for a possible police impersonator.

According to the Vestavia Hills Police Department (VHPD), they have an unconfirmed report of an unmarked, white Crown Victoria with only white flashing lights stopping an individual near Rocky Ridge Road.

The department says the subject driving the car was described as an older white male with graying hair. He was wearing a white polo and black BDU-style pants.

The VHPD asks citizens to be on the lookout for the suspect.

Anyone who thinks the police impersonator has approached them is encouraged to call the Vestavia Hills Police Department at (205) 978-0140.
