BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Hundreds of teens from across the Southeast are in the Magic City this weekend.
It’s part of a leadership conference called Jack and Jill.
The conference aims to teach teens leaderships skills that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives.
They’ve been in town all week participating in workshops.
On Friday, they got a chance to get out and visit the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute.
While there, the group of teens had the opportunity to get an up close look at the city’s history through personal stories and exhibits at the Institute.
The conference wraps up on Saturday with a banquet at 8 p.m.
CBS42’s Sherri Jackson is the emcee of that event.
