(WIAT)– Professional tennis players devote countless hours to their craft. It’s a life-long love affair, and it takes a ton of talent and dreams!

This time of year is special for Ellis Ferreira. It’s Wimbledon season in England– a tournament he’s competed in.

He says, “To actually stand on that court and actually play it is very surreal. You think about all the sacrifices that you’ve done over the years to get there. And when you finally get there it’s incredible.”

It’s a feeling he tries to pass on to his students at Lifetime Fitness in Vestavia. They say it’s an honor to be able to hear him talk about his experiences and things that he wishes he had been able to do at their age. There are many ages that come to Lifetime to glean knowledge from this former grand slam champ. Staying calm under pressure is something students say has been an essential lesson.

During Wimbledon week, tennis dreams boom– with people looking to the future, whatever the future may be.
