(WIAT) — One church in Homewood has already fired up the grill and are preparing for July 4th.

On Monday, grill masters began preparing for Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church’s 64th annual 4th of July Barbecue Festival.

The organizers started preparations early because they have at least 5,000 pounds of barbecue to cook.

“We really have a big festival for the kids and adults. We have bingo. We have a big rummage sale,” Joe Falconer said.
