(WIAT) — Despite the rainy conditions threatening Fourth of July festivities, rain won’t be able to hinder Birmingham’s Thunder on the Mountain fireworks show.
The event’s organizers insist that the show will go on.
On Thursday, final touches went into setting up the annual display at Vulcan Park on Red Mountain.
Pyro Productions, the group putting on the display, has a message to anyone who worries rain will cancel the show.
“We’re in Alabama, we’ve got rain. It’s summertime. It’s gonna rain,” Jeff Neu said. “Don’t let that rain on your parade. Come on out and enjoy Thunder on the Mountain.”
The festivities are set to begin at 9 p.m.
