Investigation closed in case of officer who shot K-9 companion

(WIAT) – The internal investigation into a Hanceville Police Department officer shooting his k-9 companion is closed.

While Anthony Childress trained with the dog, named Ichiban, he says the dog turned and attacked.

Childress used his department-issued gun and killed the dog.

Hanceville police say no disciplinary action will be taken against the officer.
