Birmingham business owner rings opening bell at NYSE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Most businesses celebrate their grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

One Birmingham man went straight to the top to announce that his company is now in business.

Daniel Coleman rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Monday.

Coleman is the CEO of the KCG Holdings, an independent securities firm.

The company began publicly trading on July 2, 2013.
