BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The city of Birmingham has another black eye.
One month after a city councilwoman was charged with ethics and elections violations, the head of Mayor William Bell’s Office of Public Information is now the talk of the town.
April Odom was recently featured on the Blount County District Attorney’s Bad Check Writers poster.
She owed $855 in fines and restitution for allegedly writing two bad checks.
The District Attorney’s office says Odom, who makes $105,000 a year, cleared her name in April.
Everyone placed on the Bad Check Writers list was sent two or three notices before being placed on the poster.
CBS42’s calls to April Odom and Mayor William Bell’s office have not been returned.
