BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Employers posted more job openings in May, which is a good sign the United States’ economy is improving.
According to the Labor Department, 3.83 million jobs were posted in May.
That’s close to February’s 3.9 million, which was the highest in five years.
A total of 28,000 more positions were posted in April than in May.
Still, on average there are almost 3.1 million Americans out of work for each new jobs that opens.
