Police spokesman Albie Esparza said Tuesday that investigators are looking into whether a Chinese girl might have been killed accidentally by a fire truck racing to the scene on the runway at San Francisco International Airport.

Fire Chief Joanne-Hayes White says one of its fire apparatus might have come into contact with one of the two victims killed following Saturday’s crash.

San Francisco police say its hit-and-run detail and its major accidents investigations team both would typically be involved in any such investigations.
