BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Most high school students spend the summer kicking back and relaxing.
Michael Moorer and Angelica Gantt decided to do much more, though. Both are the grand prize winners of Summer Quest, a scholarship program offered through a partnership between the City of Birmingham and Regions Bank.
They competed with 400 other students to complete 2,200 quests to earn the top prize.
“I would definitely recommend this to someone,” Gantt said. “It’s very educational, and it helps you to learn about colleges.”
Moorer and Gantt have a $500 shopping spree and a $1000 scholarship to the college of their choice.
