BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A total of 12 people were arrested for visiting an illegal gaming facility on Tuesday. The owner is also facing charges for operating the facility.
The seizure happened on Tuesday afternoon at a home off of 26th Avenue North.
Thirty electronic gaming devices were hauled away.
Police say it was one of many facilities they believe are operating in the city.
The investigation began as an anonymous tip to police.
“We do appreciate the citizens of the city coming forward and telling us about these problems, because no one knows more about what’s going on in their community than the people who live there,” Birmingham Police Capt. Henry Irby said.
